Claude for Financial Advisors Setup
We set up Anthropic's Claude for Financial Advisors at your RIA: the right plan, your custodian, CRM and portfolio connectors, your firm's rules inside the skills, archive capture for your books and records, and a one-week pilot on real households. Two to four weeks, from $10,000.
The plugin is free, and installing it takes a minute. The time goes into everything around it: which plan your CCO can defend, which systems to connect and under whose login, what the compliance skill should check at your firm, and where the records end up.
Anthropic wrote eight good workflows. Your firm's version of them is the part that does not come in the box.
Orion and Redtail, Wealthbox, Black Diamond, Addepar, Tamarac, MoneyGuide, iCapital, Wealth.com, Zocks, and Schwab as its connector reaches your firm. We work on the stack you already run.

The Plugin in One Paragraph
Claude for Financial Advisors, launched by Anthropic on September 14, 2026, is a plugin for Claude Cowork. It bundles eight workflows (/onboarding, /pre-meeting, /post-meeting, /compliance, /prospect-intake, /portfolio-rebalance-review, /alts-brief and /estate-and-tax-brief) with connectors to the systems advisors already use. It drafts meeting prep, CRM notes, rebalance options and compliance pre-checks. It never places a trade, and every write back to a client system waits for the advisor's approval.
The full picture, including what each skill does and does not do, is in the Claude for Financial Advisors guide.
Priced by Firm Size, Fixed Once Confirmed
The work steps up with headcount: more advisors to connect, more permissions to scope, more people in the pilot. Nothing else moves the price.
| Firm size | Fixed price |
|---|---|
| 1-10 people | $10,000 |
| 11-25 people | $20,000 |
| 26 or more | By proposal |
Licenses are separate. You buy them from Anthropic, and WorkWise takes no referral fee or margin. Anthropic lists Enterprise seats at $20 per user per month, billed annually, with a 20-seat minimum, plus usage billed at API rates; its own ballpark for active users is $70 to $120 per user per month. The pricing guide works the numbers for 5, 10, 20 and 40 people.
The Setup, End to End
Two to four weeks from the first call to firm-wide launch, with 30 days of support after.
Not included: Claude licenses (you buy them from Anthropic), legal advice (your counsel owns interpretation), the full firm-wide AI governance file (that is SEC-Exam-Ready AI Governance, $17,500), and firm-wide training (the Executive Briefing, $7,500, covers up to 50 people).
- ✓Plan and seats. Enterprise or Team, decided in writing with your CCO, plus seat count, spend limits and model defaults.
- ✓Workspace and access. Single sign-on, groups and roles, Cowork switched on, the plugin pushed to every advisor through your organization's plugin settings, and local connectors restricted to what your policy allows.
- ✓Connectors. Your custodian, portfolio reporting, CRM, planning, estate and meeting-notes systems connected with the least access that works, read-only where the vendor offers it, and a written paste-or-upload fallback for anything without a live connector.
- ✓Your firm's rules in the skills. The plugin forked into a private firm repository, with your review standards, required disclosures and banned phrases in
/compliance, your CRM note format in/post-meeting, and your IPS and model names in the rebalance review. - ✓Records and supervision. The Compliance API switched on and handed to your archiving vendor, an AI use policy addendum and supervision steps for the plugin, and a vendor file for Anthropic and each connector.
- ✓Pilot and launch. Two or three advisors on real households for a week, fixes, then firm-wide launch, champion onboarding for up to three people, an admin handbook and 30 days of support.
Four Weeks, One Pilot, No Drift
A small firm with three or four systems often finishes in two weeks. The schedule below is the longer case.
Plan and plumbing
Plan decision, single sign-on, roles, plugin distribution, and the first connectors live.
Your rules
Your compliance rules, note format and model names written into the skills, plus the policy addendum and vendor files.
Pilot
Two or three advisors run meeting prep, meeting notes and compliance checks on real households. We fix what they find.
Launch
Firm-wide rollout, archive capture confirmed, the admin handbook handed over, and 30 days of support begin.
Book a Setup If...
You have Claude seats and the plugin is uninstalled, or installed and still running Anthropic's defaults.
Your CCO asked where Claude's outputs get archived, and nobody had an answer.
You run Orion, Redtail, Wealthbox, Black Diamond or Addepar and want them connected with the least access that works.
You want the compliance skill checking your firm's rules and disclosures, beyond a generic SEC checklist.
You are under 20 people and need a straight answer on Team versus Enterprise before you sign.
You want advisors using it on real client households within a month, rather than a pilot that drifts for a quarter.

Setup FAQ
How much does Claude for Financial Advisors setup cost?
$10,000 for firms of 1 to 10 people and $20,000 for 11 to 25 people. Firms of 26 or more are scoped by proposal. The bracket is confirmed on the first call and the price does not move. Claude licenses are separate and bought from Anthropic; WorkWise sells none and takes no referral fees.
Do we need Claude Enterprise to use Claude for Financial Advisors?
Anthropic recommends Enterprise for registered investment advisers because it includes the audit logs that support recordkeeping. Enterprise is also where the Compliance API lives, which is how archives such as Smarsh capture Claude activity. Anthropic lists Enterprise with a 20-seat minimum. The plugin installs on a Team plan too, but you give up those records tools. The setup settles the question with your CCO in week one, in writing. The trade-off for small firms is laid out in Claude for Financial Advisors for small RIAs.
Do we have to custody at Schwab?
No. Schwab is the only custodian integrated with Claude for Financial Advisors at launch, and its connector covers custodial, titling and beneficiary data. The other connectors, including Orion (with Redtail), Wealthbox, Black Diamond, Addepar, Envestnet Tamarac, MoneyGuide, iCapital, Wealth.com and Zocks, work wherever you custody. Where a system has no connector, the skills take a pasted or uploaded export. Every connector is covered in the connectors guide.
How long does setup take?
Two to four weeks. The variables are how many systems you connect and how quickly each vendor grants access. A small firm with three or four systems often finishes in two weeks.
Will the setup make us SEC compliant?
No tool or consultant can promise that, so be wary of anyone who does. The setup builds the pieces an examiner looks for around the plugin: archive capture, supervision steps, a policy addendum and vendor files. Your counsel and CCO own the interpretation. For the full firm-wide AI governance file, add SEC-Exam-Ready AI Governance ($17,500). The rule-by-rule view is in the compliance guide.
Can we set it up ourselves?
Yes, and plenty of small firms should. The plugin's /onboarding skill connects your tools and runs a demo, and the step-by-step setup guide covers the rest. Bring in help when you have several systems to connect, a CCO who wants the records question closed, or nobody with time to run a proper pilot. The guide to Claude for Financial Advisors consultants compares every kind of help, including doing it yourself.
