Train the Portfolio, One Function at a Time
AI training for portfolio companies works differently than training a deal team. Portfolio companies are operating businesses, so we train by function (finance, sales, RevOps, operations), group people by skill level, and run every session on the company's own work.
A GP can sponsor the program across the whole portfolio, so every company moves to the same standard instead of each one starting from scratch. Runs on each company's stack: Microsoft 365 Copilot, ChatGPT Enterprise, Claude, or Gemini.

Four Function Cohorts
A controller and a sales rep do not need the same AI skills. We split the company by the work people actually do, then group each function by current skill level so nobody is bored and nobody is lost.
Finance & Accounting
Close faster, draft board reporting, interrogate the GL, and turn variance analysis from a week into an afternoon, on the company's own numbers.
Sales
Research accounts, draft outreach that sounds human, prep calls, and keep the CRM current without the busywork reps avoid.
RevOps & Marketing
Build the reporting that used to wait on a data team, clean pipelines, and produce campaign content at a pace one person could not before.
Operations & Support
Draft SOPs, answer customer questions from the company's own docs, and take the repetitive tickets off the team's plate.
- Beginners start with the habit: where AI helps, where it lies, and the few workflows worth doing daily.
- Regular users go from chat to systems: saved skills, templates, and connecting AI to the tools they already run.
- Power users build for their team: shared workflows, light automation, and the judgment to know what should not be automated.
One Standard, Every Company
A GP can sponsor the cohorts portfolio-wide, the same way the firm's own people learn through a Guided Launch. Find the value first, train to capture it, and keep it safe throughout.
Value-Creation Diagnostic
An $8,500 read on where AI moves EBITDA at a portfolio company, and what to train for first.
Guided Launch
The same one-function-at-a-time model the firm uses, applied inside the operating company.
Secure AI Adoption
Guardrails so a portfolio company can move fast without leaking data or breaking policy.
Portfolio Company Cohorts FAQ
Who attends?
The operating company's own people, grouped by the function they work in: finance, sales, RevOps, operations, and support. Not the deal team. If you want to train the investment team, that is the Guided Launch or an intensive.
How are cohorts grouped?
First by function, then by skill level: beginners, regular users, and power users. A controller and a brand-new analyst should not be in the same room as someone already building workflows. Grouping by level keeps everyone working at the edge of what they can do.
Can a GP sponsor this across all portfolio companies?
Yes, and most do. Running the cohorts portfolio-wide gets every company to one standard, makes results comparable across the book, and usually earns better pricing than each company buying alone. We often start with a Value-Creation Diagnostic to pick the first companies and functions.
How does it connect to governance?
Training and guardrails ship together. We pair the cohorts with Secure AI Adoption so people learn the safe way from day one, and the GP can keep both moving across the portfolio through the ongoing Sustain work.
