Can Claude for Financial Advisors give investment advice?

Short answer: No. Anthropic says the plugin does not provide investment advice, personalized recommendations, suitability determinations or portfolio allocations, and no skill places or stages a trade. It gathers, organizes, compares and drafts; the advisor makes the recommendation. Anthropic also says outputs are not meant to go to clients without the firm's review.
Anthropic's repository puts the division of labor in one sentence: "Claude gathers, organizes, summarizes, compares and presents information, while the advisor exercises judgment, makes the recommendation and gives the advice."
The skills are built around that line. The rebalance review lays out tax-aware options and drafts a rationale memo for the compliance file, with the approval table left blank for the advisor to sign. It never states that a portfolio is or is not suitable.
The prospect intake stops short of a proposed allocation, a fee quote or return projections. The alternatives brief reports what the platform says about private fund positions and does not recommend funds or forecast returns. The estate brief flags titling and beneficiary gaps and gives no legal advice.
This is good design for a fiduciary. The work that takes time, collecting and reconciling data, moves to the machine. The judgment, and the duty that comes with it, stays with you, where the SEC expects it to be.
