What is Claude for Financial Advisors?

Short answer: Claude for Financial Advisors is a free plugin from Anthropic, launched September 14, 2026, that adds eight advisor workflows to Claude Cowork: meeting prep, meeting notes, compliance pre-checks, prospect intake, rebalance reviews, alternatives briefs, estate and tax briefs, and a guided setup. It pulls data from systems advisors already use, such as Orion, Wealthbox, Addepar and Black Diamond, and waits for the advisor's approval before writing anything back.
It is a set of instructions, and it holds no client data. The plugin's files are Markdown and JSON, published on GitHub under the Apache 2.0 license. When an advisor runs a skill, Claude reads what it needs from the connected systems at that moment.
The eight workflows run as slash commands:
/onboarding: learns your firm and tech stack, connects your tools, runs a demo on a fictional household./pre-meeting: a client review prep document with agenda and talking points./post-meeting: a CRM note, tasks and opportunities from a meeting, written only after you approve./compliance: a pre-check of client-facing drafts against SEC rules, for your CCO./prospect-intake: a prospect's statements turned into a summary, an analyst handoff and a what-to-expect memo./portfolio-rebalance-review: drift, tax-aware options and a rationale memo./alts-brief: private fund positions beside the liquid book./estate-and-tax-brief: the estate plan checked against account titling and beneficiaries.
What it will not do matters as much. It never places or stages a trade, it makes no suitability calls, and Anthropic says its outputs are not meant to reach clients without the firm's review.
Anthropic built it with Dynasty Financial, Schwab and Vanguard, aimed it first at RIAs, and recommends the Enterprise plan for registered advisers because Enterprise includes the audit logs that support recordkeeping.
