TLDR: It costs $33,700 in year one to implement Claude at a five-person family office: $1,200 for Claude Team seats, $25,000 for setup and $7,500 for a briefing for principals and staff. A 10-person office pays $34,900 and a 20-person office $42,300. Personal Pro accounts at $17 a month billed annually look cheaper, but they run on consumer terms, where chats can train models unless each user opts out. WorkWise Solutions does this work at published fixed prices: a $25,000 Claude rollout for offices of up to 10 people and a $7,500 Executive Briefing.
I'll price your office's year one with you before you buy a seat. WorkWise Solutions sets Claude up through a fixed-price Claude rollout, $25,000 for offices of 1 to 10 people and $30,000 for 11 to 25, and briefs principals and staff in a 90-minute, $7,500 Executive Briefing. I sell no licenses and take no referral fees, so the seat line comes straight from Anthropic's price list.

1. The Short Answer
Implementing Claude at a five-person family office costs $33,700 in year one. A 10-person office pays $34,900, and a 20-person office $42,300, before ongoing support and your own people's time.
Seats are the small line: five Claude Team seats cost $1,200 a year. The rest is setup and a briefing for principals and staff, priced at the fixed fees published by WorkWise Solutions, which also publishes this guide.
The option that looks cheapest, personal accounts, is the one to rule out first.
2. Licenses, and Why Personal Accounts Cost More Than They Save
Claude Team fits an office of 2 to 150 people. A standard seat costs $25 a month, or $20 billed annually (Anthropic's pricing), so five seats cost 5 x $20 x 12 = $1,200 a year.
Enterprise also costs $20 a seat billed annually, plus all usage at API rates, with a 20-seat minimum bought self-serve. A five-person office would pay for 20 seats, $4,800 a year, before usage. It adds SCIM, audit logs, the Compliance API and custom retention, so buy it when someone needs those.
Then there are personal accounts. Five Pro subscriptions at $17 a month billed annually cost $1,020, which is $180 a year less than Team.
Here is what saving the $180 costs. Pro runs on consumer terms, where chats can train models unless each user opts out, and it has no organization admin console, audit log or Compliance API. When someone leaves, the family's documents stay in an account the office never controlled.
On a business plan, Anthropic's Commercial Terms say it may not train models on the office's content, as quoted below. K-1s, capital call notices and quarterly statements belong there.
Personal accounts save $180 and cost the office its say over where family data goes.
3. Setup
Setup is everything between buying seats and trusting staff with family data in Claude. For a family office it covers:
- Privacy settings. Chat ratings off, since a thumbs up or down stores the whole conversation for up to 5 years (Privacy Center). Cowork's Automatically approve mode is on by default, so it goes off.
- Rules. One page on what never goes into Claude.
- Connectors, read-only first. An Owner enables each one, each person signs in individually, and each tool is set to Always allow, Needs approval or Blocked (Anthropic Help Center).
- Skills and records. A starter skills library in the office's own formats, with up to three champions who can maintain it, and the governance documentation.
An office with an IT lead who already runs its other admin consoles can do this in-house, at the cost of that person's hours. Hired at the fixed prices this guide uses, setup costs $25,000 for offices of 1 to 10 people and $30,000 for 11 to 25, over three to six weeks.
You pay for setup once. You live with its settings every day after.
4. Training
A family office's training line can be short. The Executive Briefing costs $7,500 for 90 minutes with up to 50 people, enough room for principals, staff and the family members who want to come.
It covers where adoption stands, what is coming and the risks leadership owns, such as data use, recordkeeping and the policy choices. It ends with a decision memo and 90-day starter recommendations.
For the person who will own Claude day to day, Anthropic's Claude Academy offers "Free courses, tutorials, and use cases from Anthropic's education team."
Count the time as well: 90 minutes for each person in the room.
5. Three Worked Budgets
| Cost line | 5 people | 10 people | 20 people |
|---|---|---|---|
| Plan | Team | Team | Team (Enterprise seats cost the same at 20) |
| Seats, billed annually | 5 x $20 x 12 = $1,200 | 10 x $20 x 12 = $2,400 | 20 x $20 x 12 = $4,800 |
| For comparison: personal Pro on consumer terms (not counted) | $1,020 | $2,040 | $4,080 |
| Usage | Comes with Team seats | Comes with Team seats | Comes with Team seats |
| Setup (the rollout, three to six weeks) | $25,000 | $25,000 | $30,000 |
| Training | $7,500 Executive Briefing | $7,500 Executive Briefing | $7,500 Executive Briefing |
| Internal time | An owner's hours, plus 90 minutes a person | An owner's hours, plus 90 minutes a person | An owner's hours, plus 90 minutes a person |
| Year one before support and internal time | $33,700 | $34,900 | $42,300 |
Going from five people to ten adds only $1,200, because both sizes pay the same $25,000 setup. At 20 people, setup moves to the $30,000 bracket.
At 20, an office can also buy Enterprise self-serve without paying for empty seats. Seats cost $4,800 on either plan, and Enterprise adds usage at API rates, so run a capped two-week pilot before switching.
In every column, seats are the smallest cash line.
6. Where to Start
Work in this order, because each answer changes the next line:
- Confirm the platform. If the office is still choosing between Claude and the alternatives, decide that before anyone buys seats.
- Move personal accounts onto the plan. Anyone using Pro for office work moves to Team first.
- Pick Team or Enterprise, with the 20-seat minimum in mind.
- Price setup as an owner's hours or a fixed fee.
- Book the briefing for principals and staff.
The setup itself, step by step, is in How to Implement Claude at a Family Office.
WorkWise Solutions, which publishes this guide, does the setup and briefing lines at fixed prices. The Claude rollout sets up Claude Team or Enterprise with data rules, retention settings, connectors to the office's document stores, a starter skills library and governance documentation: $25,000 for offices of 1 to 10 people and $30,000 for 11 to 25, over three to six weeks. The Executive Briefing costs $7,500 and credits in full toward any program booked within 90 days.
An office still choosing a platform can start with the AI Readiness Sprint, $12,500 for firms of up to 20 people, which ends in a vendor-neutral platform decision. WorkWise sells no licenses and takes no referral fees. Not a fit if the office has an IT lead with the time to run setup in-house.

- •Self-serve Claude Enterprise has a 20-seat minimum and bills usage at API rates on top of $20 a seat, so a five-person office buying it would pay $4,800 a year for 20 seats before usage.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much does Claude cost for a small family office?
For a five-person family office, Claude Team seats cost $1,200 a year billed annually (5 x $20 x 12), or $1,500 billed monthly at $25 a seat. Team covers 2 to 150 members, and usage comes with the seat. Self-serve Enterprise has a 20-seat minimum, so a small office would pay for 20 seats, $4,800 a year, plus usage at API rates. Setup and training cost more than the seats: this guide's worked budget puts a five-person office's year one at $33,700, before support and internal time.
Is Claude Pro enough for a family office?
Not for family office data. Claude Pro costs $20 a month, or $17 billed annually, and runs on consumer terms, where chats can train models unless the user opts out. It has no organization admin console, no audit logs and no Compliance API, so the office cannot manage the accounts, and a leaver's chats stay in a personal account. Claude Team costs $20 a seat a month billed annually, and on business plans Anthropic does not train models on inputs or outputs by default. For five people, Team costs $180 a year more.
What does a Claude consultant charge a family office?
Ask any consultant for a fixed fee in writing before work starts. WorkWise Solutions publishes its prices: a Claude rollout for a family office costs $25,000 for 1 to 10 people and $30,000 for 11 to 25, over three to six weeks, covering data rules, retention settings, connectors, a starter skills library and governance documentation. A 90-minute Executive Briefing for up to 50 people costs $7,500. An office still choosing a platform can start with the $12,500 AI Readiness Sprint. WorkWise sells no licenses and takes no referral fees.
