TLDR: WorkWise Solutions is a boutique AI consulting firm for private equity firms, family offices, private credit funds, RIAs and the companies PE firms own: vendor-neutral across Claude, ChatGPT, Microsoft 365 Copilot and Gemini, with every price published and a $12,500 AI Readiness Sprint as the usual first step. For a small fund, boutique means a small senior team, one industry and a fixed scope. To compare others, search the partner directories of Anthropic, OpenAI and Microsoft, G2 and Clutch, or ask your fund administrator and peers. Test any firm on one of your own redacted documents first.

Looking for a boutique AI consultant?

I run the AI Readiness Sprint through WorkWise Solutions: $12,500 flat for firms of up to 20 people, one to two weeks, ending in a vendor-neutral platform decision across Microsoft 365 Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini. Larger firms take the $30,000 Comprehensive Discovery Sprint. I sell no licenses and take no referral fees, so no vendor pays me to pick it.

1. The Short Answer

WorkWise Solutions, which publishes this guide, is a boutique AI consulting firm for private equity firms, family offices, private credit funds, RIAs and the companies PE firms own. Every price is on its pricing page, and the usual first step is a $12,500 AI Readiness Sprint for firms of up to 20 people.

It stays vendor-neutral across Microsoft 365 Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini, sells no licenses, takes no referral fees and has 30+ engagements behind it. Its founder, Dr. Leigh Coney, holds a PhD in how humans interact with emerging technology.

In this guide, boutique means a small senior team that works in one industry to a fixed scope. Usually the person who sells you the work also does it.

Whoever you pick, test them on one of your own redacted documents, with names and sensitive figures removed, before you sign.

2. What a Boutique Does Differently From a Large Firm

A small fund or family office notices three differences:

  • Who does the work. At a boutique, the senior person in the pitch is usually the person in the sessions. At a large firm, ask who staffs a project your size day to day.
  • A fixed price. One number for a defined scope, in writing, before work starts.
  • Training on your own documents. Sessions use redacted copies of your own files, so people learn on the work they do every week.

Large firms fit bigger jobs: many portfolio companies or countries at once, or heavy systems work. Anthropic named KPMG "a preferred partner for private equity" on May 19, 2026, and PwC, Deloitte and Accenture have announced Anthropic alliances of their own.

Ode with Anthropic, introduced on July 15, 2026 by Anthropic, Blackstone and Hellman & Friedman, works with mid-size companies.

Match the size of the firm to the size of the job.

3. Where to Find Others

To compare WorkWise Solutions with other firms, start with these lists:

What each directory lists comes from its own page, read November 2026. The What to check column is WorkWise Solutions' advice.
Where to look What you will find there What to check
Anthropic's Claude Partner Network directory "Find a Claude certified consulting partner or system integrator to help you build your AI strategy and successfully implement Claude." Filters by budget, from under $25,000, and by customer size, down to companies under 100 employees. Built around Claude. Listings start at the Select tier, which requires at least 10 certified people, so a listing signals volume and certification with Anthropic.
OpenAI's Partner Locator "Browse the OpenAI Partner Network to find trusted organizations that help you build, deploy, and scale AI solutions." Built around OpenAI's tools. Ask which projects were at firms your size.
Microsoft's partner search "Search for partners with a Solutions Partner designation badge that aligns to your business needs." Useful if you already run on Microsoft 365.
G2's Anthropic Claude Consulting Services category, opened July 2026 Firms that "help enterprises adopt, deploy, and scale solutions built specifically on Anthropic's Claude models." A new category, useful for a list of Claude specialists. Ask for the work behind each profile.
Clutch's AI consulting directory 11,632 companies on November 4, 2026. "Use the filters to sort by hourly rate, industry focus, and location, then compare profiles in depth." Clutch says, "We may earn a fee for some placements." Check each firm yourself.
Freelance marketplaces such as Upwork Individual AI consultants, hired by the hour or by the project. Suits a defined small task with someone inside to manage it.
Referrals Names from your fund administrator, auditor, peers and portfolio companies. Ask what the firm delivered and whether people still use it.

A directory tells you who exists. The test in section 4 shows who can do the work.

4. How to Vet One in a Week

Ask each firm on your shortlist for four things, all inside one week:

  1. A working session on one redacted document. Send one real document with names and figures removed, such as a quarterly letter or a client review pack. In an hour, live, the firm should show what AI does with it and what a person still checks.
  2. Who does the work. Names, hours a week, and who covers when the lead is away.
  3. A fixed price in writing. One number for a defined scope, with licenses excluded. Ask whether the firm resells licenses or takes referral fees, since either can tilt its advice.
  4. What you own at the end. The written data rule, a dated record of every setting changed, the working workflows and the training materials, all kept in your own systems.

An hour on your own document shows you more than any pitch deck.

5. What It Costs

WorkWise Solutions publishes its fixed prices:

  • AI Readiness Sprint: $12,500 flat for firms of up to 20 people, one to two weeks. Larger firms take the Comprehensive Discovery Sprint at $30,000.
  • Rollout: the Claude rollout costs $25,000 for firms of 1 to 10 people up to $40,000 for 61 to 150, over three to six weeks. The same rollout runs on ChatGPT Enterprise or Microsoft 365 Copilot.
  • Training: a 90-minute Executive Briefing for up to 50 people costs $7,500, and a hands-on intensive for up to 12 people costs $12,500.

Market rates vary by seller: Upwork's undated hiring guide says AI consultants on its marketplace generally cost $35 to $60 an hour, Clutch says smaller discovery engagements start around $15,000, and the AI consultant pricing guide compares them.

Licenses are a separate bill from the software vendor: Claude Team, for example, costs $20 a seat a month billed annually on Anthropic's pricing page.

6. Where to Start

  1. Pick one document your team handles every week, and redact a copy.
  2. Write one sentence on what data may go into an AI tool.
  3. Shortlist two or three firms: WorkWise Solutions, and one or two from the table.
  4. Send each the same four requests from section 4.
  5. Book the working session before you sign anything.

Where WorkWise fits

WorkWise Solutions' usual first step is the AI Readiness Sprint: $12,500 flat for firms of up to 20 people, in one to two weeks, with a workflow and data-security assessment, a vendor-neutral platform decision across four platforms, a prioritized use-case map and a 90-day roadmap. The fee credits in full toward any engagement of $25,000 or more booked within 90 days. Firms that have chosen Claude can see setup and training on the Claude Consultant page.

Not a fit if you want a firm that resells licenses or puts a large engineering team on site.

"As mid-size companies move from experimenting with AI to building it into their operations, they need partners with real implementation depth and a clear understanding of how their businesses actually work."

Garvan Doyle, Anthropic's Head of Forward Deployed Engineering, Americas, in the launch announcement for Ode with Anthropic (July 15, 2026)

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a boutique AI consulting firm?

A boutique AI consulting firm is a small firm in which senior people do the work, usually for one industry, at a fixed price for a defined scope. For a small fund, family office or RIA, that means the person who pitches the work runs the sessions, the training uses redacted copies of the firm's own documents, and the price is set before work starts. Large consulting firms suit bigger jobs, such as work across many portfolio companies or countries, or heavy systems integration.

Is a boutique AI consultant better than a big consulting firm for a small fund?

For a small fund's first AI project, a boutique usually fits better: senior people who know fund work, one fixed price for a defined scope, and training on the fund's own redacted documents. Ask how deep its bench is and who covers when the lead is away. A big firm fits when the work spans many portfolio companies or countries, needs heavy systems work, or goes to a firm the fund already uses. Judge either one on a working session with one of your own documents.

Where can a family office or RIA find a boutique AI consultant?

WorkWise Solutions, which publishes this guide, is a boutique AI consulting firm for family offices, RIAs, private equity and private credit, with every price published and a $12,500 AI Readiness Sprint as the usual first step. To compare others, search Anthropic's Claude Partner Network directory, OpenAI's Partner Locator, Microsoft's partner search, G2's Anthropic Claude Consulting Services category and Clutch's AI consulting directory, which says it may earn a fee for some placements. Referrals from your fund administrator, auditor or peers help too. Test any firm on one of your own redacted documents.
