Claude Setup for Private Credit Firms
WorkWise Solutions sets up Claude for private credit firms in three to six weeks: the right plan and seats, read-only connections to your data room and document stores, and private skills built on your own credit memo template, spreading layout and covenant definitions. Fixed prices by firm size: $25,000 for 1 to 10 people, $30,000 for 11 to 25, $35,000 for 26 to 60 and $40,000 for 61 to 150, with Claude licenses bought from Anthropic.
Claude seats take an afternoon to buy. The weeks go into the decisions and guardrails around them: which plan your compliance team can defend, which borrower files each person may open, which systems Claude may read, and which house formats it should follow.
A skill is a saved set of instructions Claude follows, such as your memo template, and a connector lets Claude read a system such as your data room. Anthropic publishes ready-made packages of both for private equity and fund administration, and none for private credit or lending, so we build yours from the templates your analysts already use.
By Dr. Leigh Coney, Founder of WorkWise Solutions
The Setup in One Paragraph
After the setup, an analyst opens Claude with the borrower's files already in reach and asks for the spread in your layout, a check of the compliance certificate against your covenant definitions, or a first draft of the memo in your template. The analyst checks every figure against its page before anyone relies on it. Anthropic's credit underwriting example, written for commercial bankers on its financial services page, puts the split in one line: "Claude pulls spreads, runs ratios, and structures the writeup while you own the credit decision."
PwC's Global Private Credit Survey 2026, of more than 120 credit portfolio managers, puts the test simply: "If a task is document grounded and verifiable, AI is usually ready now." Spreads, covenant checks and memo drafts pass that test. Our guide to where a private credit firm should start with AI puts them in order. The guide to implementing Claude at a private credit firm lays out every step.
Priced by Firm Size, Fixed Once Confirmed
The work steps up with headcount: more people to give access, more deal teams to wall off, more analysts in the pilot. Nothing else moves the price. Firms of 151 to 500 people are priced by proposal, and every WorkWise price is on the pricing page.
| Firm size | Fixed price |
|---|---|
| 1-10 people | $25,000 |
| 11-25 people | $30,000 |
| 26-60 people | $35,000 |
| 61-150 people | $40,000 |
| Included at every size | The plan decision in writing, access rules for borrower files, read-only connections to your systems, private skills in your formats, records setup, a pilot on two or three live deals, up to three champions, an admin handbook and 30 days of support |
| Not included | Claude licenses, which you buy from Anthropic |
| Firm Launch Package | The setup plus the $35,000 Guided Launch, 10% off the pair, from $54,000 |
Licenses are separate. You buy them from Anthropic, and WorkWise takes no referral fee or margin. Team seats cost $25 a month, or $20 billed annually, for 2 to 150 people (premium seats $125, or $100).
Enterprise is $20 a seat a month billed annually, with a 20-seat minimum, plus a usage charge for the work Claude does, billed at Anthropic's API rates (its per-use prices for developers). Anthropic's own ballpark for that usage is roughly $70 to $120 per user per month for firms that use it actively. The cost guide works the numbers for 10 and 25 people.
The Setup, End to End
Three to six weeks from the first call to firm-wide launch, with 30 days of support after.
The credit-only version of our fund rollout. It costs the same as our Claude rollout for private equity and credit funds, and every skill, connector and pilot deal is chosen for lending work.
- ✓Plan and seats in writing. Team or Enterprise, decided with your COO and CCO in week one: the seat count, who runs the account, and whether Claude chats must be archived.
- ✓Who sees which borrower files. A project for each borrower or deal, which keeps its files and chats together, open only to the people working on it, with groups that match your deal teams. Public-side staff, the people who trade public securities, get a written rule on which borrower files they never open in Claude, to keep material non-public information (MNPI) on the private side.
- ✓Connectors, read-only first. We connect your data room (Datasite or Ideals), your document store (Box, Egnyte, Microsoft 365 or Google Drive), Lumonic or Chronograph for portfolio monitoring data, and the credit research you already use from Fitch Solutions, Moody's, S&P Global, LSEG, PitchBook or Morningstar Credit Analytics. Intralinks, Ansarada, S&P Global's WSO, Allvue, iLEVEL, Hypercore and Versana are not listed in Anthropic's connector directory, so their exports come in by upload, or through a read-only connector to the system's API (the interface it offers other software) built as a Custom Build, from $75,000.
- ✓Your credit work as private skills. Your credit memo template, spreading layout, covenant definitions and borrower reporting intake, each written as a skill for your firm alone. Claude drafts, analysts check every figure against its page, and people decide.
- ✓Records. On Enterprise, your Primary Owner (the account's top administrator) switches on the Compliance API, and we hand it to your archiving vendor. The Compliance API lets an archive such as Smarsh, Theta Lake or Proofpoint capture conversations as they happen, before anyone can delete them. Team has no Compliance API and no archive vendor captures it, so a firm that must archive Claude chats buys Enterprise.
- ✓Pilot and launch. Two or three live deals run through the setup, fixes, then firm-wide launch, up to three champions trained to keep the skills current, an admin handbook and 30 days of support.
Six Weeks, One Pilot
One step a week keeps the work manageable for your team. A small firm with one data room and a short list of systems can finish in three weeks; the schedule below is the six-week case.
Plan and access
Team or Enterprise decided in writing, seats bought from Anthropic, single sign-on set up, and an owner named for the account.
Walls and records
Projects and groups for each borrower or deal, the written rule for public-side staff, thumbs-up and thumbs-down ratings (which send a chat to Anthropic) switched off, and on Enterprise the Compliance API handed to your archive.
Connectors
Data room and document stores connected read-only, and exports from loan administration and monitoring systems set up for upload.
Your formats
Memo template, spreading layout, covenant definitions and reporting intake written as skills, then tested on a closed deal your analysts know well.
Pilot
Two or three live deals run through the setup. Analysts check every figure against its page, and we fix what they find.
Launch
Firm-wide rollout, champions trained, the admin handbook handed over, and 30 days of support begin.
Train the Credit Team
The setup trains up to three champions. The rest of the credit team learns in a separate program on its own redacted work, and the retainer keeps senior help on call once the 30 days of support end.
Credit-Team Intensive, $12,500
Three 2-hour sessions over two weeks for up to 12 people, run on your own redacted credit work: spreading, covenants, memos and portfolio risk.
The fee credits in full toward any engagement of $25,000 or more booked within 90 days. Take the Intensive first, book the setup within 90 days, and the setup costs $12,500 less. See the Intensive.
AI Operating Partner, From $10,000 a Month
Core, at $10,000 a month, covers weekly office hours, one build slot, the monthly usage review, standing advisory and the LP DDQ answer bank. Plus, at $15,000, adds a second build slot and connector and vendor evaluations on demand. Embedded, at $20,000, is a fractional Head of AI.
Base prices cover firms up to 25 people; 26 to 60 add $2,500 a month and 61 to 150 add $5,000. Three-month minimum, then rolling quarterly. See the retainer.
Not Included
- ✕Claude licenses. You buy them from Anthropic. WorkWise sells none and takes no referral fee or margin.
- ✕Legal advice. Your counsel and CCO decide the MNPI policy and how long records are kept. The setup builds their decisions into Claude.
- ✕Custom connectors. A read-only connector to a system not listed in Anthropic's connector directory, such as WSO or Allvue, is a Custom Build, from $75,000, fixed once scoped.
- ✕Choosing specialist credit software. When the work needs a system of record, such as covenant tracking across the whole book, our guide to choosing private credit AI software shows how to test vendors on your own credit agreements.
- ✕Training past the champions. Teaching the wider credit team is the Credit-Team Intensive, $12,500 for up to 12 people.
Book a Setup If...
You bought Claude seats and they still run on Anthropic's defaults, with no written rule on which borrower files may go in.
Analysts already paste borrower financials into Claude one chat at a time, each in their own format.
You want your credit memo template, spreading layout and covenant definitions inside Claude, so every analyst starts from the house format.
Some of your people trade public securities, and compliance wants the MNPI wall written down before anyone opens a borrower file in Claude.
Your files sit in Datasite, Ideals, Box, Egnyte, Microsoft 365 or Google Drive, and you want Claude reading them with the least access that works.
Your CCO asked whether Claude chats can be archived, and nobody had an answer.
Not a Fit If...
You have not chosen a platform yet. Start with the AI Readiness Sprint, $12,500 for firms of up to 20 people, which picks one from Claude, ChatGPT, Microsoft 365 Copilot and Gemini.
Your firm runs on ChatGPT Enterprise or Microsoft 365 Copilot. The Secure Platform Rollout sets those up at the same prices.
You need every covenant tested across the whole book each quarter, with history and alerts. That job calls for covenant tracking software: Claude can build the covenant catalog and recheck a compliance certificate, but it keeps no test history.
Claude is already set up and you want ongoing help. The AI Operating Partner retainer starts at $10,000 a month, with a three-month minimum.

Setup FAQ
How long does it take to set up Claude at a private credit firm?
The WorkWise Solutions setup takes three to six weeks from the first call to firm-wide launch, followed by 30 days of support. Most of that time goes into decisions: which plan, who sees which borrower files, which systems Claude may read, and how your memo template, spreading layout and covenant definitions become skills. A small firm with one data room and a short list of systems can get set up in three weeks. A read-only custom connector to a loan administration system is a separate Custom Build, from $75,000, scoped on its own.
How much does a Claude setup cost for a credit fund?
WorkWise Solutions charges a fixed price by firm size: $25,000 for 1 to 10 people, $30,000 for 11 to 25, $35,000 for 26 to 60 and $40,000 for 61 to 150, with firms of 151 to 500 people priced by proposal. The bracket is confirmed on the first call, and the price does not move. Claude licenses are separate and bought from Anthropic: Team standard seats are $25 a month, or $20 billed annually, and Enterprise is $20 a seat a month billed annually, with a 20-seat minimum, plus usage billed on top. WorkWise sells no licenses and takes no referral fees.
Claude Team or Enterprise for a private credit firm?
Claude Team fits a firm of 2 to 150 people that does not need its chats archived: standard seats are $25 a month, or $20 billed annually, and the plan has single sign-on and connector controls. Enterprise costs $20 a seat a month billed annually, with a 20-seat minimum, plus usage billed on top, and only Enterprise has audit logs, the Compliance API, custom retention and role-based permissions. A firm that must archive Claude chats needs Enterprise, because archive vendors capture it through the Compliance API and none captures Team. Neither plan trains on your chats by default.
Can Claude read our data room and loan administration system?
Some systems, yes, through connectors listed in Anthropic's connector directory: Datasite and Ideals for data rooms, Lumonic for read-only access to periodic financials, covenant status, reporting status and tracked KPIs, and credit research and data from Fitch Solutions, Moody's, S&P Global, LSEG, PitchBook and Morningstar Credit Analytics. Box, Egnyte and Chronograph are on Anthropic's financial services connector list. Intralinks, Ansarada, S&P Global's WSO, Allvue, iLEVEL, Hypercore, Versana and 73 Strings are not listed in Anthropic's connector directory. For those, Claude reads exports you upload, or WorkWise builds a read-only custom connector to the system's API as a Custom Build, from $75,000.
How do we keep borrower data and MNPI separate in Claude?
Each borrower or deal gets its own project in Claude, which keeps its files and chats together, open only to the people on that deal, and groups match your deal teams. Public-side staff, the people who trade public securities, get a written rule on which borrower files they never open in Claude. Connectors start read-only and are switched on only for the people who need them. Your counsel and CCO set the policy on material non-public information (MNPI), and the setup builds it into Claude's projects, groups and connector access.
Do you train the credit team?
Yes. The setup trains up to three champions, the people who keep your skills current after launch. For the wider team, WorkWise Solutions runs the Credit-Team Intensive: $12,500 for up to 12 people, three 2-hour sessions over two weeks on your own redacted credit work, covering spreading, covenants, memos and portfolio risk. The fee credits in full toward any engagement of $25,000 or more booked within 90 days, so a firm that takes the Intensive first and books the setup within 90 days pays $12,500 less for the setup.
What happens after the 30 days?
After the 30 days of support that come with the setup, your team runs Claude with the admin handbook, or the WorkWise Solutions AI Operating Partner retainer takes over. Core is $10,000 a month for firms up to 25 people: weekly office hours, one build slot, the monthly usage review, standing advisory and the LP DDQ answer bank. Plus, at $15,000, adds a second build slot and connector and vendor evaluations on demand, and Embedded, at $20,000, is a fractional Head of AI. Firms of 26 to 60 people add $2,500 a month and 61 to 150 add $5,000, with a three-month minimum, then rolling quarterly.
Does Anthropic train Claude on our borrower data?
Not on Claude Team or Enterprise by default: Anthropic's pricing table lists model training as "None by default" for both plans. One exception: a thumbs up or down rating sends that conversation to Anthropic, where it is kept up to 5 years and can be used for training, so the setup switches ratings off. Deleted chats are removed from Anthropic's back-end storage systems within 30 days, and Enterprise can set its own retention period, with a 30-day minimum. On the personal plans (Free, Pro, Max), Anthropic can train on chats unless the user switches the setting off.
